Overview
Workshop|Morally Courageous Leadership in Difficult Times
Time: 10:00 - 11:15
In difficult times, courageous leadership matters more than ever.
This interactive online workshop explores how leaders can strengthen their moral courage -- the ability to act ethically and boldly, even when it’s uncomfortable or risky.
Through a combination of personal storytelling, unique frameworks, and collective reflection, we’ll explore what it feels like to lead in today’s volatile world, where far-right narratives are becoming mainstream, racism is virulent, and everything feels fractured.
You’ll leave with practical tools and renewed belief in your own agency to lead with integrity and courage.
This session will explore:
- Defining Moral Courage – What it is, and why it’s an essential trait for modern leadership
- A Framework for Enacting It – Practical approaches to recognising and applying moral courage every day
- Why We Need It Now – Understanding the wider societal and organisational stakes
- Personal Storytelling – Trainers experience of using moral courage to drive change as a civil servant
By the end of this session, participants will:
✅ Understand what moral courage looks and feels like in action
✅ Gain a framework to apply it in their own leadership practice
✅ Feel empowered to lead ethically and decisively — even when it’s hard
✅ Recognise their personal agency in shaping cultures of integrity and inclusion
Who Should Attend:
- Leaders navigating change and uncertainty
- Managers seeking to lead with integrity and impact.
- Professionals in public service, social impact, or organisational leadership roles
- Anyone who wants to strengthen their moral compass in challenging times
