Professional Women Conference Series returns to in-person events

Dods Diversity & Inclusion is pleased to announce that the conference series Professional Women returns to the events calendar with dates in November, December and January, all of which will be in-person events and CPD-credited.

Kiren Kaur, Head of Portfolio, Dods Diversity & Inclusion, commented: "We're committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our delegates, speakers and all parties involved at every event, and the decision to move our Professional Women Conference Series is testament to that. Over the past couple of years, we have delivered the most inclusive events possible in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, and we will continue to do so as we return to in-person events. The series returns bigger and better!"

The Professional Women Conference Series is a unique personal development and executive coaching platform that brings together female leaders to reflect on the role of women in leadership. The 2022 series will see speakers provide delegates with practical advice and coaching on how to further develop their careers. Topics to be discussed throughout the series include sector landscape, imposter syndrome, communicating with confidence, managing difficult conversations, the menopause, and culture change.

The series will also bring together inspirational women from diverse sectors to reflect on the challenges of modern leadership and the common goal of ensuring we don't lose momentum in recognising and rewarding female leaders.

Key dates for upcoming conferences include:

Women in Policing

The number of women in policing over the past decade is witnessing a steady rise, but the number of women in senior leadership ranks remains low. There is certainly some way to go to achieve gender-balanced leadership teams that are truly representative of the populations they serve. Women in Policing seeks to provide current and future leaders with the skills needed to correct this imbalance.

Women in Local Government

Despite making up 78% of the local government workforce, women account for only 17% of local authority leaders and 33% of council chief executives – statistics which have hardly changed in a decade. Women in Local Government returns in 2022 to offer practical advice and coaching on how to address the barriers affecting your progression and further develop your career in times of change.

Women in Public Finance

Gender leadership gaps in the traditionally male-dominated field of finance persist with visible and invisible barriers holding women back. Furthermore, the lack of data regarding the specific numbers and circumstances of women working in public finance makes supporting aspiring leaders more challenging — hurdles the conference seeks to address.

Women in Education

Women represent an overwhelming majority of the education workforce, yet they are significantly underrepresented in senior leadership positions. The Women in Education conference seeks to explore current barriers and opportunities for female leaders in the sector and offers practical advice and coaching on developing their careers further.
